Think JP takes this in the first 6 rounds to be honest. Not really fussed about his last fight as it was a case of him getting the win without much fuss, he did that and there was always bigger fights down the line. I think we'll see the best of JP on saturday and he'll prove too good for Hughie in my honest opinion. I think JP at his best gives Anthony Josua all sorts of problems and thats the fight he should be targeting.

6/1 in him winning between rounds 4 to 6
1.7 to win outright is great value as well HappyHappy

Can't believe they charged £14.99 for that. No TV company remotely interested , were practically giving the tickets away and they think it's PPV

I didn't even bother looking for a stream

Don't get why people were saying Hughie was the guy the powers that be wanted for a big money fight off the back of this Confused

Parker has been consistently talked up as an opponent for AJ , Wilder and is name fans in America know . Hughie Fury is a nobody as far as promoters and TV are concerned.

It's cos they price themselves out ridiculously.

PPV is becoming a joke, too many. These upcoming WBSS ones are a disgrace too.

Is Parker really known in America, I doubt it. Him vs AJ won't be that big a deal, hard to see it as remotely competitive.

Report tobermory September 23, 2017 11:58 PM BST
The problem with boxing scoring is you are not really allowed to score rounds as drawn , so you have to give a 10-9 in a nothing happened round.

Then if someone puts on a masterclass in a round but doesn't get a knockdown that is 10-9 too as you hardly ever see a 10-8 without a knockdown even though you theoretically can

It is a dumb method
Report Geesyerdosh September 23, 2017 11:59 PM BST
They must have lost a fortune on this fight. Probably explains Fat Mick's reaction.
Report yer ma September 24, 2017 12:00 AM BST
PArker is like a fitter younger Molina for me and that'll mean it lasts 4/5 rounds not 3.  That said maybe Wilder fights Parker and tees up the AJ unification fight
Report Shrewd_dude September 24, 2017 12:01 AM BST
That was a terrible fight that could have gone either way. But anyone who thinks that Parker won 10 rounds and that was a good decision for boxing is either a ****g idiot or isn't a boxing fan.
Report Angela Rebecchi September 24, 2017 12:04 AM BST

Report Shrewd_dude September 24, 2017 12:08 AM BST
I'm not sure whether you read the part where I said anyone "who thinks that Parker won by 10 rounds"  and your are an idiot or you're illiterate and just think I said that about people who thought Parker won?
Report Captain carnage September 24, 2017 12:08 AM BST
It boils down to if you can judge rounds as draws.

When I score fights there are so many v close rounds I give numerous drawn rounds in this fight and in the canello v ggg.

However, if you dont or are not expectd tp give drawn rounds I can easily see why Parker could be given a landslide.

He landed more shots almost every round and was the aggressor throughout.

In the Canello fight he was constantly on the back foot but his counters were sharp, powerful and connected. Fury for me only v occassionally
countered cleanly. Surely you cant score for `quick feet'.

Ps. Bellew beats both of them and Joshua pulversises both.
Report Des Pond September 24, 2017 12:17 AM BST
Ah well, lost a few bob, but kept stakes small, so no great loss. Anyway, I've got Sky this week, so I should be able to watch Linares fight on big screen. Excited
Report n88uk September 24, 2017 1:41 AM BST
Judges are strongly discouraged from giving 10-10 rounds though, and pretty much only give them if there is like no punches thrown like say Haye-Harrison.

Did Parker really land more shots every round, I saw him throwing shots, but hardly anything was landing. Tbh it was really poor quality, nothing convinced me it was anything more than 2 average fighters.
Report n88uk September 24, 2017 1:42 AM BST
I think scoring it 118-110 whatever you saw similar to GGG vs Canelo was pretty much impossible, most people seemed to have it tight with most leaning towards Fury, but 10 rounds to 2 Parker, it's very hard to see the fight like that imo.
Report Des Pond September 24, 2017 8:41 PM BST
I agree, on the 8 or 9 rounds of the fight I saw, and what I heard about the last 3 or 4. It was a difficult fight to score; Look at all the backtracking, obfuscation and equivocation of the various commentators and ringside "experts". They didn't have a clue what was happening, and came up with 3 or 4 different versions to try to cover what they had said during the fight. Personally I thought Fury was going to get the decision by at least one round. To score it 118-110 is ridiculous. A female American judge was suspended for that kind of anomaly. Will O'Connor and Madfis be suspended? Not a chance! And O'Connor will get plenty of opportunities to ruin more events in the future. Ar least the Americans take some action against rogue judging (eventually), but the same old numpties are left to their own devices time and time again in the UK.
