yeah im interested too I guessed 15k but they didnt let the guess stand cause I made it at 11pm then wagered 270 after would be sods law wouldnt it....

15k?haha. Some idiots guessing 50k plus on that leaderboard..

People just don't think about it, firstly research how big the cup actually is, I got the dimensions and guessed 3300, secondly do you think betfair want to give away anything over £5000 in this promo? I doubt it..

I found out the real answer from betfair just now, it was £2893
I just missed out on a prize

I thought 3200 ...

how come betfair have yet to post the result (or email us) - last time they had a competition (the golf bag full of cash) they did both I think (ie: announcement on website and email) - I'm a little shocked it was as low as 2893 (if that is true) for how much would they be willing to give out as a prize - the golf bag proze was in excess of £20k.......
As for getting the dimensions - would you mind sharing with us :

a) what dimensions did you get?
b) how did that equate to a guess?

Yes the 2893 figure was emailed to me by the help desk.
Didn't know the golf prize was that high!!
Well with dimensions of the cup you can work out the volume it holds, obviously this is not totally accurate due to the shape of a cup, then with the volume I worked out the size of a pound coin and how many could fit Into the volume of the cup, all guesses but I was only 400 coins out! :) maybe if I had done more wagering and more guesses [;)]
Report dodadae September 19, 2011 9:46 AM BST
yeah - I understand how to work out the volume - but from the dimensions available (height, width and depth) - I estimated the volume to be far more than something which would hold "only" £2893......and looking at the list of guesses, I believe most people guessed a lot higher too - ok - £50k+ might have been a bit ambitious - but the vast majority of guesses appeared to be above £10k
